Day 40 - Calling Your Own Children
What if God would call your children to be in missionary work? How would you feel about it? Could you give your blessing and support? Many missionaries can trace the first awareness their call to missions back to their childhood. Let’s pray for parents to be supportive of their offsprings’ calling and give not only approval, but undergirding as well.
“I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD.” And he worshiped the LORD there.” - 1 Samuel 1:27-28 (NIV)

Father, thank you for allowing my family to be part of this awesome challenge of praying with the children for 40 days. I’ve listened to my kids pray over 30 times. They are 12, almost 11 and 6 years old. God, I want my kids to be more yours than mine. I want to show them who you are AND what you are like more than what my flesh is like. Help Julie and I to raise them to love you more than any thing else. Thank you for these 3 gifts. They are yours. I also pray for the children that we have prayed with, those kids who are across the water and thousands of miles away in Africa. Raise up some who will lead many, many others to do great things for you. Shock us all by how you lead and use the kids. Thank you for letting my family be part of 40 Days of Prayer with the Children. Build, hold, use and make Children’s Cup your light to every place they touch. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
