SANTIAGO DE CHILE: PRESIDENT GENERAL PINOCHET

General Pinochet, President of Chile, sent his helicopter to airlift the ministry team I was with to his summer retreat in the mountains.

Shortly after I took this photo he served me a Coke that had local ice in it--ice made of unboiled water. I knew it was trouble but what could I do. You don't refuse the hospitality of a Head of State.

Later that night at the crusade in the stadium, the bad-water ice made me violently sick.

I wasn't sure I'd survive but I did--with quite a memory of the meeting.
