Cecia’s Story

Cecia’s Story

   Halle Erwin
   6 July 2018

Cecia Pineda is eight years old and attends the Teupasenti CarePoint in Honduras. The youngest of five siblings, she very seldom received enough food at home. Even when they did have enough for everyone to eat, her family did not own a table and chairs to use for their meals together.

Addicted to drugs and on the verge of despair because of their financial issues, Cecia’s father became a professional thief. Still without enough money to feed their family, Cecia’s mother turned to prostitution. Unfortunately, most nights the children still went to bed hungry. Sick and undernourished, Cecia and her siblings were developing symptoms of anemia.

Since discovering the nearby CarePoint, Cecia changed dramatically. She is comfortable sitting and eating, full of energy, and is always smiling now. A visiting mission trip team also provided a dining table and chairs for Cecia and her family.

Because of you, Children’s Cup and Feed My Starving Children have rescued Cecia from malnutrition. She and her siblings now have a safe place to receive physical and spiritual nourishment. Thank you for the immeasurable impact you’re making in the life of Cecia and others like her in Honduras!
