Fierce Faith

Fierce Faith

   Alyssa Anderson
   29 June 2018

A simple step of faith may seem small yet can impact thousands of people years later. This is the case with our late founder, Dave Ohlerking. He was a man of faith who set out to help “a few children,” but instead influenced the lives of many more.

A vision so great and significant as this one doesn’t simply manifest over night. Birthed from years of praying, seeking, and hearing God’s voice, it takes someone with a faith that doesn’t relent.  It's a faith founded deep enough to withstand setbacks, discouragements, and loss. It's fierce.

When one sets out to change the world by going to the hardest places in the world, attacks are inevitable. The children who Reverend Dave wanted to help were poor, forgotten, and in desperate need of help. The situations these children were in seemed hopeless. He pressed on because he believed in a God that came to seek and save the lost.

Remember, God has given YOU the faith to overcome the toughest of situations. Consider those who have gone before us. The difficulties they experienced ultimately achieved the vision God placed in them. Your continuous and unrelenting faith in what seems small will prove to impact the lives of many for years to come.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,  fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer, and perfecter of faith." — Hebrews 12:1-2a
