La Barquita CarePoint Grand Opening

La Barquita CarePoint Grand Opening

   Priscila Peña
   8 March 2019

Everything began with a lot of movement—the painters painted final touches and the volunteer mothers cleaned and cared for every detail.

The emotion was felt from the early hours! The children constantly asked what time the party would be. We furnished, we arranged everything, we set up a tent, chairs, balloons, and prepared our hearts for a wonderful celebration and dedication.

The day began full of smiles, hugs, and kisses. We prayed, thanking God for his wonders! We sang with the direction of Pastor Irene of the San Isidro CarePoint, who enjoyed seeing the good news in La Barquita.

Pastor TJ then shared encouragement to the children. The main leader of the Barquita Church shared words of gratitude for The Shore Church, as well. Finally, the President of the Neighborhood Council also expressed thankfulness.

The applause, I'm sure, was heard to the sky! With smiles on everyone's faces, we were united in one for God's Kingdom.

A new stage begins, new emotions, dreams fulfilled, new opportunities, and hearts that have understood that God has greater plans than we imagine. A little girl told me, "Priscila this is not a small house, it's a big house!" and I could only answer by saying, "God does it!" The school principal then shared, "God has given us a lot!"

Our expanded reach and opportunities in the Dominican Republic are a testament to the faithfulness and favor of the Lord. We couldn't be more excited to continue reaching to see Every Child a Whole Child in this beautiful community in partnership with The Shore Church.
