Soccer Team at Las Vinas CarePoint

Soccer Team at Las Vinas CarePoint

   Alyssa Anderson
   9 October 2019

On Saturday mornings at the Las Vinas CarePoint, you will find a newly-formed soccer team competing against opposing teams in the community. This team was recently organized by the CarePoint leaders as another element to encourage children to regularly attend the CarePoint. Since the team’s conception a few weeks ago, the CarePoint has already seen outstanding community involvement. Recently, the Las Vinas team was invited to play a match against another local soccer team. Our CarePoint children became friends with the other team, inviting them to stay for food and fun after the match.

The visiting children listened to a message of salvation, and the CarePoint children engaged in conversation with them. Since this event, the CarePoint leaders noticed an increase in attendance. Our young soccer team members at the CarePoint became ambassadors of the program, encouraging involvement from the other children in the community.

Thanks to sponsors like you, soccer matches occur every Saturday! This program has provided another incentive for children to attend the CarePoint, given them a new outlet to learn about teamwork, and grown our influence in the community. We are reaching more children through the implementation of the soccer team, and it has quickly become something everyone looks forward to participating in!

Thank you for making this possible!

One of her favorite assignments was helping create the Economic Empowerment program in Eswatini, which empowers teenagers at the ‘Cup CarePoints to become leaders in their community. Alyssa and her husband, Dustin, live in Texas, but enjoy any time they get to spend on the field.
