The Story Is Not Done Yet

The Story Is Not Done Yet

   Dan Ohlerking
   1 May 2020

It may seem overwhelming - this crazy unexpected new chapter in history that 2020 has been so far. Maybe like many, you’re just ready for it to be done. That’s understandable entirely. You can be sure of this - God is still in control, and He still works all things together for the good of those called according to His purpose. He hasn’t forgotten us. And He isn’t going to leave us the way we are. This story isn’t done yet.

At Children’s Cup we remind ourselves of that all the time. When we see a little girl come to a CarePoint hungry and we are able to provide her with a warm meal and some love, we don’t just see the moment. We look forward to what God is doing by opening a new chapter in her life. We dream of what she’ll become in the years that lie ahead of her because of the Hope she has found.

Be encouraged today. God is working in you to make you more like Him and to remind you how much He loves you. And He is working through you. You’ve continued to give and pray for the kids Children’s Cup works with and because of that, these incredible kids are finding Hope in the midst of this crisis.

Many of you have given above and beyond and helped us build a Food Distribution and Crisis Relief Fund that has been profound in keeping kids fed (and their families). Because of that giving, we’ve been able to serve 500,000 meals and counting. In eSwatini, we have been able to bless some of our partner ministries with a home for sexually abused children and a program that works with abused women. We have resourced churches with supplies to help them sanitize for re-opening, and we’ve fueled their outreaches and boosted their discipleship programs. All of this is because you haven’t stopped - you continue to pray and to give. THANK YOU.

THREE IDEAS FOR YOU TO KEEP ENGAGED:

  1. Join us on Instagram for our Monday prayer times. Prayer changes things, and it’s an especially good time praying with some of our team and leaders and some of you on these Instagram Live/IGTV times. You can catch them live or watch them back later at @childrenscup.
  2. Also on Instagram Live and IGTV we have been talking with our different country directors. If you want to keep updated on what the situations are in our various countries, these conversations can be a tremendous blessing to you.
  3. Sponsor a child. Simply visit childrenscup.org and follow the links to sponsor a child. Better yet, get your church, business, or organization to do a sponsorship opportunity online during your next gathering. Online sponsorship events are a great great way to do something as a group that truly truly makes a difference right now. If you’d like to learn more about setting up a sponsorship event with your group, reach out to Katie Chatham at katie.chatham@childrenscup.org

And don’t forget how important your giving is. Without it, all of this doesn’t happen, but with it we are together Giving HopeInspiring Dreams, and Changing Worlds.

Be blessed.
