This Generation Can Make It Happen

This Generation Can Make It Happen

   Dan Ohlerking
   29 June 2020

In a time when our nation has been awakening to how critical the need is for change regarding racism and discrimination, and while the world as a whole continues to reel from the effects of COVID-19 shutdowns, you continue to faithfully give and pray, making it possible for thousands of children and their families to be served. Together we are seeing these kids find Hope. They are inspired to dream big dreams. And they will be the kinds of people who change their world from the inside out. Free from racism, free from abuse, free from sickness, free from hopelessness, free from suicide. Don’t think for a second that this is too grand an idea - too utopian to even consider pursuing. For our God it is not too hard. Together with your help we are working to help these kids be the agents of change that will make their world different than what it is now. This is the generation to make it happen.

And you play a huge part in that. Thank you for the overwhelming response to our need to raise $150k for food distribution and crisis response. We have already received nearly $100k of that just a few weeks in. Thank you!

We continue to assess and evaluate how we can streamline our processes further, leaning in more and more to indigenous leadership, and finding more efficient methods for running this ministry.

One beautiful factor we have been seeing during these COVID-19 shutdown is how many new leaders are stepping up taking more responsibility to get things done on the ground. We are also seeing more of our workers begin to more deeply embrace their roles as ministers to children. Many have made deep personal investment and provide above-and-beyond care for the children in the communities around our CarePoints. What’s really beautiful about this is how they’re saying their own lives have been so overwhelmingly enriched by their choice to give themselves to these kids.

I pray that you also have this sense of fulfillment every time you give to Children’s Cup or pray for your sponsored child or write a letter to her or him. We pray it brings life to your soul to know that God is using you to give someone Hope, to inspired them to dream, and to change their world from the inside out.

Thank you for the blessing that you are to Children’s Cup!

Be blessed.

You Make God Rich
As you might expect, I get asked all the time, “So how is Children’s Cup doing through all this COVID-19 stuff?”  I keep finding myself almost feeling guilty for the answer...
The Story Is Not Done Yet
It may seem overwhelming - this crazy unexpected new chapter in history that 2020 has been so far. Maybe like many, you’re just ready for it to be done. That’s understandable entirely.
In the midst of crisis, blessing.
It always amazes me to see how people in the midst of a crisis, even in the midst of their own pain, step up to serve others.
