You're the Difference

You're the Difference

THANK YOU.

You, as part of the Children’s Cup family of partners and supporters have made some incredible things happen over the past few weeks. Here are just a few:

Because of your faithfulness in sponsoring children and giving to Children’s Cup, our team in Mexico was able to partner with the local government to cook and distribute food to thousands of homes, including the homes of the children who are part of our Carepoints there.

Our local church partners in the six countries we’re working in have begun to connect even more, to encourage each other, to share ideas and information, and to uphold each other. There are tremendously positive ramifications of this being part of the “new normal” for the Church - to see pastors and leaders working together.

Several of you have given over-and-above to help Children’s Cup as a whole during this time, which is making everything we are doing continue to be possible. We have been able to get food distributed to those in the greatest need, and as the crisis continues to evolve, our teams are continuing to adapt as well, to provide as much help as we can while adhering to the various governments’ guidelines for shutdown and safety.

We are taking these days as a team to redesign and update parts of our programming and systems to be able to provide greater impact in the Carepoints’ communities and the lives of each child. We believe that on the other side of this shutdown, we’ll not only have a deeper impact on the children’s lives, but we’ll be ready to reach so many more children with the Hope we’re giving.

It is painfully true that typically in crises of a large magnitude that it is the children that suffer the most. It’s hard to swallow that truth. BUT, together, we can help. What you’ve been doing by supporting Children’s Cup has already made a huge difference for our kids in this. But many of you have been asking what else you can be doing to help the children. It’s such a unique situation, and the answer can seem over-simplified, but it is still completely true nonetheless.

Food.

It is something that we all have to have to survive. And so many of our kids’ families live on such a thin margin that a situation like this puts them in a survival mode almost immediately. So we have begun to work on sourcing food locally while shipments of food from the USA are paused. And while we are committed to feeding our Carepoint children, we cannot fathom providing food for one child in a household but not helping the others in that home. “Here, you can eat, but the rest of you aren’t allowed to eat.” We just can’t do that.

So if you are in a place where you can help further, I’d just ask you to ask God if he’d want you to give toward providing food for our Carepoint communities. And simply do what you feel he’s asking you to do. We realize this is a trying time for us all, and you may be facing financial loss yourself. We are praying for you - and will continue to do so.

What I’m sure of though, is that God does see the other side of this trial. And sometimes the way he pulls us through these things is by giving us ways to help each other through. He supplies our needs according to his riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). But guess what those riches are! It's you! It's me! WE are his riches. He supplies his people’s needs according to the blessing of his people. He uses us to help each other!

So please, pray for the children and for those who serve them. And let us know how we can pray for you. And ask God to show you if and what he’d have you give extra to help with food for these communities.

We love you and are deeply grateful for you!
