La Barquita
Located on the banks of the Ozawa River, La Barquita, a little community of around 8,000, was settled by migrating peasants in 1965. It is located near the capital city. The land on the river is healthy for growing vegetables and raising cattle. However, the government had to move the farmers away from this area. The folks who have remained are poor, living in low-quality housing with homes built of wood, tin, and concrete blocks. Pollution, vulnerability, delinquency, disease, and lack of hope are experienced by all who live in La Barquita.
Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic shares Hispaniola Island with the country of Haiti in the Caribbean region. Although the Dominican Republic has advanced telecommunications systems and a great transportation infrastructure, unemployment, corruption, and inconsistent electric service remain major problems.

GIVING HOPE IS SIMPLE, YET EFFECTIVE
Through CarePoints in local communities, Children's Cup provides the necessities and skills needed to thrive, but most of all we provide children the opportunity to learn about Christ.
Through generous sponsorship, you're providing hope and encouragement, but most importantly you're letting these children know their life has value and that they are loved. Thank you!
