Tjakastad
Tjakastad is a town on the hillside with a hot climate. The closest town with access to groceries is nearly two miles away, so often the shoulder of the road is filled with people walking to and from the community. The houses are built by the community members, however, some homes are provided by the government for the elderly and exceptionally poor in this community. Although some of the fathers are fortunate enough to find work in a nearby mine, most parents depend on social grants for putting food on the table.
South Africa
The Republic of South Africa, often called the "rainbow nation," makes up the southern tip of the continent of Africa. The country is plagued with HIV, and the numbers of orphaned and vulnerable children continue to grow. Though Apartheid is in the past, a remnant of racism and segregation remains, adding to the challenges of ministering to the poor.

GIVING HOPE IS SIMPLE, YET EFFECTIVE
Through CarePoints in local communities, Children's Cup provides the necessities and skills needed to thrive, but most of all we provide children the opportunity to learn about Christ.
Through generous sponsorship, you're providing hope and encouragement, but most importantly you're letting these children know their life has value and that they are loved. Thank you!
