Thandeka Nkosi

Thandeka is a shy little girl doing well in school. English is her best and favorite subject. She walks a little under a mile to reach school each day. Working in a city several hours away, Thandeka's father works as a mechanic. Her mother, with whom she lives, is unemployed. She also lives with her grandparents and one brother. After the chore of washing the dishes is done, Thandeka enjoys skipping rope for fun. One day she thinks she would like to be a doctor!

Mooiplaas

Mooiplaas is an Afrikaans word that means "pretty farm." This remote and quiet village is filled with traditional Swazi people and has a special feel to it. Water lines have been run through the center of Mooiplaas, so people are able to walk to community taps to collect water. HIV is prevalent in this community, and currently the unemployment rate is near 70%. With small gardens in the area and a large mine not far away, those who do work are subsistence farmers or miners. Mooiplaas is positioned neatly at the base of a small mountain off a long dirt road, and the people here are very welcoming of outsiders.

South Africa

The Republic of South Africa, often called the "rainbow nation," makes up the southern tip of the continent of Africa. The country is plagued with HIV, and the numbers of orphaned and vulnerable children continue to grow. Though Apartheid is in the past, a remnant of racism and segregation remains, adding to the challenges of ministering to the poor.

HOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
All it takes is $39 a month to make a huge impact in this child's life! Your support goes directly to help provide for and empower them. Sponsoring a child will also impact your life!

GIVING HOPE IS SIMPLE, YET EFFECTIVE

Through CarePoints in local communities, Children's Cup provides the necessities and skills needed to thrive, but most of all we provide children the opportunity to learn about Christ.

Through generous sponsorship, you're providing hope and encouragement, but most importantly you're letting these children know their life has value and that they are loved. Thank you!
