The vision of Children’s Cup to inspire children and change their worlds is achieved through the power of friendships. True transformation in the lives of the children we serve happens through genuine connections with our dedicated friends who deeply connect with the children we serve.

Friends of Children’s Cup create meaningful relationships with the children. These friendships go beyond just providing support; they become the catalyst for hope and inspiration. Our team and our friends walk alongside the children, empowering them to overcome obstacles and envision a brighter future.

Friendship creates safe spaces, where children can freely express themselves, explore their dreams, and find encouragement to pursue those dreams. Our friends ensure that the children know they are loved, heard, cherished, and believed in, and this empowers the children to embark on a journey of growth, resilience, and transformation. Through these powerful friendships, we foster an environment where the vision of giving hope, inspiring dreams, and changing worlds becomes a shared reality.

WHY

africa and latin america?

In Southern Africa and Latin America, many children face a multitude of challenges that perpetuate a cycle of hopelessness and hinder their well-being. Extreme poverty serves as a primary factor, leading to increased gang activity, teen pregnancy, a broken education system worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic, rising suicide rates, unemployment, inflation, and substance abuse. As these issues combine, they create a detrimental environment for children, limiting their opportunities and threatening their prospects. We know that breaking this cycle requires addressing the root causes of poverty, providing access to quality education, healthcare, social support systems, and economic opportunities.  By showing them the love of Jesus through it all, we are offering children a chance for a brighter future.

We want to personally invite you to join us on our mission to give hope, inspire dreams, and bring out the world-changer in kids across the globe. We feel God is calling us to go deeper and wider than ever before and we can’t (nor want to) do it without Friends like you!

MINISTRY PROJECTS

  • Curriculum development, materials, technology, supplies in order to continue expanding the ministry and opportunities we offer to the kids.

    $200,000

  • There is a continual need to find resources and help kids in vulnerable situations that require assistance. These funds allow us to train staff and provide resources to the kids that need this service.

    $100,000

  • The first ministry Children’s Cup did in Africa was in Zimbabwe, and this still proves to be one of the most needy countries in southern Africa. With leadership and opportunities on the ground, this funding will allow us to begin ministry again for one year, while developing and pursuing other partnerships to continue to grow and serve.

  • Through our partnership with Feed My Starving Children, they donate containers to Children’s Cup. Shipping is our only cost, which makes this a big blessing. Although food costs are included in the $44 per child Friendship gifts, we feed a significantly larger amount of kids than those that have Friends. Donations towards containers help cover this cost.

    $12,000 per container (15 average are donated per year)

DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

  • We have an amazing opportunity to purchase a piece of property that will allow our CarePoint to grow and expand to reach more children in the Mahushu community.

    $16,000

  • We have an amazing opportunity to purchase the existing property that is the CarePoint in the Mganduzweni Community. These funds will allow us to purchase the property and take care of the necessary maintenance, repairs and upgrades.

  • We have an incredible opportunity to purchase land in the El Peje Community to further expand our reach and establish permanent roots within the community.

  • We have an incredible opportunity to purchase land in the La Joya Community to further expand our reach and establish permanent roots within the community.

  • It is much more than just playing; Playgrounds play a crucial role in the social and physical development of a child.

    $10,000 each for 4 CarePoints

  • We have an incredible opportunity to purchase land in the Nueva Esperanza Community to further expand our reach.

    $18,000 (land and current structure)

  • Purchasing land in the Pasadita Community will allow us to expand and grow as we continue to reach more children and young adults.

  • Construction of new bathrooms would allow us to increase proper hygiene protocols at the CarePoint.

how YOUR FRIENDSHIP MAKES A DIFFERENCE

Friendships are the cornerstone of our approach and the catalyst for transformation. We have developed a model centered around building meaningful connections with the children we serve, providing them with a safe and nurturing space called a CarePoint. This is a safe place where kids can come to be known, seen, valued, and loved. Here they find friendships and receive the support they need to thrive.

To combat hopelessness, our initial step is to address the immediate physical needs of the children. We ensure they have access to nutritious meals and address their essential physical requirements. By starting here, we lay the foundation for their overall well-being and create an environment where they can transition out of survival mode and begin to flourish.

THE CHILDREN’S CUP PROGRAM

Our program is designed as a comprehensive three-part experience that guides children through their entire childhood journey.

Hopeful Heroes

It begins here, where young children learn to build their lives on the foundation of hope in Jesus. We provide them with spiritual guidance, instill values, and help them develop a sense of purpose and faith.

Dream Chasers

Here we focus on nurturing children's dreams and helping them discover the great plans that God has for their lives. Through mentorship, counseling, and educational support, we encourage them to envision a future filled with possibilities and equip them with the tools they need to pursue their dreams.

Change Makers

As the youth transition into adulthood, we shift our focus to helping them become "Change Makers." We empower them by providing life and job readiness skills, vocational training, and mentorship, enabling them to live out God's purpose for their lives and make a positive difference in their communities.

Over the last 30 years, our programs have grown and expanded, but the core values remain unchanged. We begin by sharing the love of Jesus and consistently meeting the felt needs of the children. This foundation allows us to build genuine friendships that foster long-term transformation, not only for individuals but also for their families and entire communities.

Through our model of friendship and holistic support, we aim to break the cycles of despair and offer children a brighter future. By addressing their physical, spiritual, and emotional needs, we create a nurturing environment where they can thrive and develop into confident, resilient individuals who can contribute positively to their communities. With the combination of our Children's Cup programs, the dedication of our teams and volunteers, and the support and encouragement from our friends, we are able to make our vision and mission a reality, giving hope, inspiring dreams, and changing worlds.

MEET ALEXANDRA

Alexandra has attended the Alas De Cristo Rey CarePoint since she was four years old and in pre-kindergarten.

When we first met her she often acted out, was getting into fights with the other kids, not following the rules, and showing aggression. As our team got to know her more, we learned that her home situation was quite challenging and that this was likely the cause of her behavioral struggles.

Our team was able to come alongside of her and show her the love of Jesus. After an arduous work of counseling, guidance, and sharing the Word of God, Alexandra began to change and we began to see a drastic transformation in her behavior. She began to be friendly with the other children! She learned the love of God! And her family even noticed the difference in her!

Alexandra is so grateful for the support she received from Children's Cup. Now at the age of 14, she has become a very dynamic and collaborative young woman at the CarePoint. She always helps prepare and serve food, helps order materials, and tidies up the tables and chairs.

She finished her primary education, but did not continue studying because the economic situation of her family discouraged her. But that didn’t stop her from pursuing her dreams. She is currently working in a clothing store and saving up money to enroll in a beauty course next year. Her dream is to become a professional stylist!

Alexandra’s life has been forever changed and now she is chasing after the big goals and dreams God has for her!

Seeing a child experience hope that opens the door for them to dream and discover purpose is what it’s all about for us. We are so honored to get to walk alongside Alexandra and to witness the transformation God has done in her life.

With a monthly contribution of $44, Friends provide comprehensive support for one child to be part of the Children's Cup program offered at our CarePoints. This contribution covers all aspects of our three-part program, serving children in their body, mind, and spirit from childhood to young adulthood.

Your support ensures that the child receives holistic care, addressing their physical, intellectual, and spiritual needs. It enables us to provide nutritious meals, essential resources, and access to education to nurture their body and mind. Additionally, it allows us to offer spiritual guidance, mentorship, and life skills training to support their spiritual growth and development.

Through your monthly contribution, you play a vital role in empowering these children, enabling them to grow into confident, resilient young adults who can make a positive impact in their communities. Your generosity helps us fulfill our mission of giving hope, inspiring dreams, and changing the lives of these children, offering them a brighter future filled with possibilities.

ENGAGE

Engagement is indeed the heart of Friendship and is crucial for making a meaningful impact on the children's lives. By using the Friendship Dashboard, friends can actively encourage the children, offer prayers, and celebrate their victories. This platform, similar to a private Facebook group, provides a space to stay updated on the happenings at the CarePoint and foster connections with the children.

To take engagement to the next level, participating in team trips offers a firsthand experience of the incredible work being done. By joining these trips, friends can immerse themselves in the children's stories, dreams, and experiences, creating deeper connections and witnessing the transformative power of friendship in action.

Through active engagement on the Friendship Dashboard and participating in team trips, friends have the opportunity to make a real difference by providing encouragement, prayers, and celebration to the children while also gaining a deeper understanding of their lives and the impact of their support.
