30 YEARS

OF HOPE

We are grateful for the legacy and story God has been writing AND we know he’s only just begun.

Hey Friends —

If you’re reading this, we think it’s a safe bet to say that you have a heart for people and you’re passionate about making a difference in the world.

It’s because of people like you who are willing to step out, to lean in, to give generously, and to open up your heart that we’re seeing kids around the world being inspired to take hold of the fullness that God has for their lives.

What we love is that as we set out to inspire kids to pursue God’s dreams for them -  in return, we are actually being challenged to dream even bigger alongside of them. As they are reaching for the sky, breaking through barriers, and pushing the limits - it’s up to us to continue to expand the territory of opportunity, to fight harder on their behalf, to go deeper, to stretch wider. And we are here for it!

On behalf of our team, and all of the kids we serve - THANK YOU for dreaming big with us! Thank you for believing in these kids and for going all out to help them take hold of all the fullness God has for them.

— Blessings —

THE HISTORY OF CHILDREN’S CUP

IN 1992, A DREAM WAS BORN

It all started when Dave and Jean Ohlerking felt called to feed kids around the world who were facing hunger and to tell them about Jesus. The rest is history.
— March 1992

We learned of a children’s hospital in great need of medical supplies and equipment. So we got to work partnering with local churches and sent a shipping container full of gurneys, stethoscopes, wheelchairs and more.
— August 1994

Dave and Jean started dreaming with their dear friend, David VanRensburg (aka Uncle Beano) about how we could reach kids in Zimbabwe.
— August 1996

God answered prayers and opened doors for us to start serving in Zimbabwe! Our first mission? Providing food for the precious kids at a school named Tongogara.
— October 1996

We built and dedicated a library at Chambuta, our second school to support in Zimbabwe. Chambuta became known as one of the best equipped schools in the country. We’re told that because the kids were being fed healthy meals, they even started to win all of their sports games!
— July 2000

Our efforts continued to expand in Zimbabwe and we were able to start feeding kids in even more communities in Masvingo, Harare, and Chipinge. And we started our very first “Friendship” program (then called “Chosen Child”) at an orphanage called Alpha Cottages.
— 2002

New doors and connections opened up in the kingdom of eSwatini (formerly known as Swaziland). It wasn’t long before we celebrated the launch of Children’s Cup eSwatini!
— October 2003

Gigi’s Place, the very first ever Children’s Cup CarePoint was opened!
— 2004

The year our favorite holiday tradition - Christmas at the CarePoints - began!
— December 2006

Children’s Cup South Africa became a thing - a very wonderful thing!
— October 2012

Welcome to the jungle! Children’s Cup Honduras here we come. Our first CarePoint? The one and only, Teupasenti!
— October 2013

God had a divine connection for us in Belize and in no time, the Port Loyola CarePoint was born - the first of many.
— August 2016

We felt led to start reaching kids in the Dominican Republic and God showed us how! Soon the La Barquita and San Isidro CarePoints were opened and in full swing.
— February 2017

With the Grand Opening of the Palomino CarePoint, Children’s Cup Mexico was made official!
— September 2017

We celebrated God calling us to dream bigger, go deeper, and reach wider. We remixed our sponsorship program and turned it into Friendship - ensuring that every kid at our CarePoints gets to experience life-giving relationships, support, and connection. The kids are so excited to celebrate their new friends!
— February 2023

TODAY, CHILDREN’S CUP SERVES OVER 15,000 KIDS IN 6 COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD. And That makes us happy Dance.

We believe together, with our generous partners and God’s grace, we will continue to reach and serve even more communities. With God, the possibilities are endless.
