Feliza’s first steps

Recently our team witnessed something extraordinary!

When Feliza was 4 years old, she joined the CarePoint where her grandmother volunteers as a cook. Feliza was born with cerebral palsy and wasn’t only unable to walk, but was barely able to move her body at all. Her grandmother would faithfully lay her on a stretcher and carry her to the CarePoint every day.

Another little girl, Jatsiri, who is just one year older than Feliza, was drawn to her and would sit with her every day. She’d love on her, talk with her, and would move her legs for her - almost like she was doing physical therapy. Over time, both Feliza’s muscles and her confidence were building up.

And just a couple of weeks ago, our team witnessed Feliza, now at the age of 9, take her very first steps ever! She shrieked with joy! And had a blast exploring and exercising this new ability.

Not only are we in awe of how this miracle has brought hope to life in Feliza - but we’re also astonished at how Jatsiri chose to befriend Feliza, how she was led by God to care for her, and how He used her to literally change someone else’s entire world. If that’s not magic for ya!

Wow! This is why we do what we do. This is what bringing out the world-changer in kids looks like.
